If your June calendar is looking pretty bare due to so many events being cancelled you’ll be happy to hear that the fifth annual Kiwanis Kite Festival is still happening! On Saturday, June 13, starting at 10 a.m., everyone is invited to come on up to the Shelby Airport for a fantastic day of kite flying.

“This event is free to the public and all about having fun,” said Kiwanis member Jack Widmar. “We will have some vendors, social distancing will be adhered to, and food will be available.”

This is the fifth year the Kiwanis has hosted the event and due to COVID-19 there have been some changes made, but it still guaranteed to be a fun day for everyone in the family. Kite making will not take place this year, but kites will be given away throughout the day.

After practicing social distancing for so many weeks and with so many other events cancelled you won’t want to miss this! Grab your lawn chairs, the family and your kites and head out to the Shelby Airport on Saturday, June 13.

Let’s go fly a kite!
