The Cut Bank Wolves dropped a tight 14-13 game with Missoula Loyola to open the  2021 season at home last Friday. 

The Wolves trailed 14-0 early in the first quarter but held the Rams in check throughout the rest of the game. 

Austin Vanek led the Wolves’ defense with 12 tackles followed by Matthew Larson with 11. Dayne Barbie tallied nine tackles, Dillon Gray had eight and Kanon Branch totaled seven. Brant Seewald forced a Loyola fumble and Tate Monroe picked off a Loyola pass in the loss. 

Hayden Hedges led the offense with 150 yards rushing while Wyatt Berkram caught four Caleb Demanigold passes for 23 yards.

The Wolves are back in action this weekend as they host Bigfork on Friday. Action is set to kick off at 7 p.m.
