Official Glacier Electric Cooperative (GEC) Board Candidacy Petitions are now available for the 2020 Glacier Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees election. Working closely with management, the Board of Trustees ensures the cooperative provides quality service to its members.

For the 2020 election, GEC will fill three trustee seats for a term of three years: One At Large District, One Rural District, and One Browning District. Active GEC members residing within these districts are encouraged to petition for candidacy. Members interested in seeking election to the board may pick up a petition packet at one of Glacier Electric Cooperative’s offices.

Petitions must be signed by 15 or more active GEC members. Petitioners must also fill out a Board of Trustees Petition Application in order to verify that the petitioner meets qualifications, as well as, to give petitioners an understanding of the expectations and responsibilities of serving as trustee.

In addition, petitioners must fill out a candidate biography in order to provide members with information on each candidate. All qualified petitioners will be placed on the ballot and the election will be held in April. Petitions must be submitted to one of GEC offices no later than March 9.

Complete details on trustee qualifications and the nomination procedure can be found online at www.glacierelectric.com. If you have any questions, please contact Glacier Electric Cooperative at (406) 873-5566.
