Janine Scott and Mary Jo Bremner take their oath of office from outgoing Commissioner Tom McKay.

Mary Jo Bremner made history on Monday, Dec. 21. She is not only the first woman Glacier County Commissioner. She is also the first Native American woman to hold the position. Outgoing commissioner Tom McKay administered the oath of office to Bremner, who gave McKay a fist-bump thanking him for his six years of service.

Also sworn in Monday was Janine Scott after being elected to another four-year term as Glacier County Clerk of Court in last month’s General Election. Scott, a Democrat, was unopposed.
