Logan Health-Cut Bank wants to be your partner in maintaining good health and helping you live a healthier, more full life.  This year’s annual health fair is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 15 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joe Meagher Memorial Civic Center. A lunch of soup and salad will be served at noon. The theme is Super Heroes for Health.

“We really do have more control over our health than we have typically thought in the past,” said Toni Altenburg, Community Health Improvement Manager at Logan Health-Cut Bank.  “A healthy lifestyle is a strong defense in the battle against COVID.  I am a firm believer that people should control what they can when it comes to their health.”

Altenburg continued, “We can control how much exercise we get, how much water we drink, and what we are putting in our mouths. More than ever before, it is important that we start taking healthy lifestyle more seriously.”

This year Logan Health-Cut Bank is partnering with several agencies, clinics, and services throughout the area who share the mission and desire for a healthier, happier, safer community.

“It is inspiring to me when planning these events, to see all the wonderful services we have available in our community and surrounding area. It is heartwarming to see how much these individuals care for the health and well-being of our community,” noted Altenburg.

While there is no admission charged for the health fair, there will be a minimal charge for some of the health screenings offered by Logan Health that day. There will also be numerous door prizes and drawings for those who attend.

“We will be doing a variety of health screening labs that day from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.  You must be fasting for those tests so come first thing in the morning, have your blood drawn and then help yourself to a healthy breakfast,” invited Altenburg. The screening labs that will be offered include wellness (birthday) labs ($50), PSA ($50), and lipid panel alone ($20),” she added.

“One of our goals for this health fair is to provide community members with health information and health screenings. Annual health screenings are key to early detection of potential health threats and that is why we push the health screenings,” Altenburg said.

For more information on the other health screenings, that will be available, call Altenburg at 873-3696.

Joining Logan Health-Cut Bank at the health fair will be Glacier County Health Department, Glacier Pharmacy, who will be giving flu shots, Illuminate Wellness, Southern Piegan Health Center, Glacier Community Health Center, Opportunities, Inc., and MSU Glacier County Extension Office to name a few.

In addition, Logan Health-Kalispell will be available to discuss diabetes prevention and management, showcase the DEXA scan, and the Newman Center will be available to do depression screenings and share information about mental wellness.

Logan Health-Cut Bank will also be spotlighting the behavioral health programs offered at the clinic by Ashley Kimmet, LCPC.

The Los Tacos de Montana food truck will be onsite, and Northtown Drug from Shelby will be whipping up healthy smoothies. “We love partnering with and supporting our local businesses,” said Altenburg.

A healthy lifestyle awaits you. Come to the health fair and see how to make that happen. It is easier than you think, encouraged Altenburg.
