John Running Fisher of Black Raptor Snow Removal was busy Monday morning clearing sidewalks and parking lots of his downtown Cut Bank businesses. Blue skies and calm winds were a welcome change from the windy, frigid blizzard conditions of the weekend. Depending on where you live, snowfall ranged from 12 to 17 inches in the area but drifts in some places were several feet high.

Just days before, the First State Bank of Shelby sign showed temperatures above 70-degrees, feeling more like May weather than almost winter. Mother Nature soon put the area back in check with winds blowing in cooler temps and a blizzard by the weekend.
