Our two weeks of autumn was fun, wasn’t it? Since Mother Nature is determined to throw us into winter, thoughts begin to turn towards the holiday season. Here at Hi-Line’s Help, we take the opportunity at the holidays to help out those families we work with by offering a special turkey dinner for Thanksgiving and Christmas, our “Christmas Store” where they can come shop at no cost, and fun stockings to give the kids. We love to see the smiles this brings!

Hi-Line’s Help is a nonprofit domestic violence/sexual assault prevention and advocacy organization that serves men, women and children in Pondera, Teton, Toole, Liberty, Chouteau and Glacier counties. We operate on grants and on funds raised in our communities. Recently, we joined AmazonSmile to help in our fundraising effort.  AmazonSmile is a simple way to support a charitable organization every time you shop at Amazon, at no cost to you.

When you shop on Amazon, (and you know you do!), all you have to do is choose Hi-Lines Help for Abused Spouses and Amazon donates .5% of every eligible purchase you make to us. This costs you nothing. What a wonderful and convenient way to donate during the holiday season! HLHAS would greatly appreciate anyone who chooses us as your charity of choice.

Here is how to sign up for AmazonSmile. Visit smile.amazon.com. Sign in with your Amazon.com credentials. Next, search for Hi-Lines Help for Abused Spouses. Important: When typing out our program’s name, do NOT use the apostrophe in “Line’s”. Type out “Lines,” otherwise it will not find us. Select us as your charity. Then I would recommend adding a short cut to your desktop or phone homepage so that when you go to amazon to shop, your shopping through AmazonSmile each time. You must shop through the AmazonSmile for the donation to be made. AmazonSmile can also be activated in the Amazon Shopping app for iOS and Android phones. That’s all there is to it!

Why do we raise funds? We are constantly fundraising to sustain our program. We use the money to cover costs that the grants do not and to keep our doors open when the grants are not available. Our goal is also to create a scholarship for graduating seniors who are going into the Human Services or related fields. Funds raised from AmazonSmile would go towards that goal. We also make and sell our Peace Candles as a fundraiser, too.

Unfortunately, due to COVID, there will be no opportunity to set up at the holiday craft shows this year. If you would like to buy some candles, melts, air fresheners or scented pinecones, you can come to our office, or stop by Beary Sweet Alpaca Gift Shop or the Bumble Bee Craft Shoppe in Conrad,  The Heritage House and 406 MT Mercantile in Lincoln also carry our products.

The staff at HLHAS would like to thank our community for all their wonderful support over the years. It truly is a blessing to call our part of Montana home.
