The Heart Butte Warriors basketball team racked up another lopsided win, beating Power last week and claiming an 89-37 victory on Jan. 8. An earlier game against Sunburst on Jan. 7 was canceled.

“We’re still intact,” Warriors Coach Kellen Hall said of his team’s numbers. “We just had two JVs out, but it’s easier for us as a Class C team because we see fewer people. We are diligently talking about it to keep our players from being exposed. So far, everyone is good; we had some strep but we’re negative for Covid.”

Thomas Young Running Crane led in the Power game with 30 points, followed by Riley Reevis with 19, Joe Murray 13, Jude Reevis 12, Marcus Rutherford seven, Casey D. five and Frankie Calf Boss Ribs with three points.

This week, the Warriors were scheduled to take on top rated Class B Rocky Boy on the road on Tuesday, Jan. 11.

“I’m glad to play Rocky Boy,” Coach Hall said. “They’re tops in 1B so it’s a good look for us; then we’ll move on after that to conference play.”

Heart Butte will host Conrad on Friday, Jan. 14, and Simms on Saturday, Jan. 15. JV girls play at 3 p.m., JV boys at 4:30, varsity girls at 6 p.m. and varsity boys at 7:30 p.m.
