The Browning wrestlers hosted Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Corvallis to a quad dual meet last week. Following the successful event, they traveled to the CMR Holiday Classic in Great Falls over the weekend.
“We did very well in the toughest tourney of the season,” Coach Casey McDonald said of the CMR meet. “It’s all-class and by far harder than state because of that. Pita Fish, a freshman at 103 pounds, was one match away from placing. Quentin Campos at 145 placed seventh, and Brendyn Whiteman at 205 placed fourth.”
The CMR always features a primary and secondary event.
“At the second secondary tourney, Wind Augare placed second at 185; Tahj Wells placed second at 160; David Sharp placed 3rd at 160; freshman Labron Shooter placed 4th at 138; and freshman Preston Connolly placed 4th at 113. Our kids are still learning every day and that’s key to the process. I think we will peak at the perfect time before state and Divisional tourneys.”
This week, the wrestlers were slated to travel to Ronan on Tuesday, Dec. 21, for a meet Then on Thursday, Dec. 23, they’re due at the Shelby Showdown.
