Cut Bank senior Paayton Branch swings for the kill shot last Tuesday night as Shelby’s Shelbee Correa starts to elevate for the block.

The Cut Bank Lady Wolves went 1-2 last week as they dropped matches to Shelby and Malta before ending the week with a dominating win over Rocky Boy. The Lady Wolves are back in action this week as they take on Choteau and Conrad.

Last Tuesday the Lady Wolves fell to the Shelby Coyotes 18-25, 25-23, 25-23, 9-25 and 10-15.

Jackie Waller led the defense with 17 digs and the senior also served up two aces. Sofia Bertei followed with 14 digs and dished out 13 assists. Chloe Dempsey and Darci Littrell led the Lady Wolves at the net with six kills each and Dempsey also led Cut Bank with five aces.

Cut Bank traveled to Malta on Friday and the Lady Wolves dropped the opening two games 25-11 and 25-16 before taking game three 25-16. The Lady Wolves were unable to keep their momentum and dropped game four 25-13.

Waller led Cut Bank with 12 digs followed by Kenzie Stiner with six. Bertei led with 12 assists followed by Makenna Burke with eight. Burke led the Lady Wolves with nine kills and three aces followed by Littrell with six kills.

The Lady Wolves closed out the week with a sweep of Rocky Boy, 25-15, 25-21 and 25-9.

For the third match of the week Waller led with 16 digs followed by Stiner with 11. Paayton Branch led the Lady Wolves with five of their 14 aces followed by Burke with four. Burke also tallied six assists and five kills in the win while Dempsey followed with four kills and also recorded two blocks.

This week the Lady Wolves will travel to Choteau on Thursday before returning home on Saturday to host Conrad for Senior Night and Pink Out Night.

Junior varsity action will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Choteau and 2 p.m. in Cut Bank. Varsity matches will follow approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the JV matches.
