Shelby’s Vivi McDermott performance during the 2021 season earned her First Team All-Conference and All State honors.

Six area athletes earned District 1B All-Conference Volleyball recognition for their work on the court for the 2021 season. Four Shelby Coyotes and two Cut Bank Lady Wolves were among the 14 spikers to earn either First Team or Second Team accolades. Leading the way was Shelby’s Vivi McDermott who was not only a First Team All-Conference member, but also was voted to the All-State team.

Joining McDermott on the First Team was teammate Cameron Blevins along with Cut Bank’s Sofia Bertei. Choteau placed three Bulldogs on the First Team in Emma Gunderson and Ada Bieler, who were also earned All-State honors, along with Sadie Grove. Shaylee Brigsby rounded out the First Team.

Shelby’s Jori Clary and Emma Taylor were joined by Erin Schmidt of Cut Bank on the Second Team. Avery Schubarth and Emma Woods of Fairfield along with Taylor Asselstine and Katie Major of Choteau rounded out the Second Team.

All-Conference honors are voted on by the coaches of the 1B with each coach unable to vote for their own athlete. The top three vote-getters also are named to the Class B All-State Team.
