Weslin Edwards and the Panthers enter the District 10C tourney in Conrad as the sixth place seed. They will play third seeded Sunburst at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The District 10-C Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament kicks off today (Wednesday) in Conrad with girls action while the boys will take the court tomorrow for their opening round matchups. Undefeated Heart Butte headlines the boys’ bracket while Simms is the top team for the girls.

The Simms girls team will  take on eighth seeded Cascade at 2:30 p.m. followed by fourth seeded Power and fifth seeded Valier facing off at 4 p.m. Augusta earned the second seed and takes on seventh seeded Dutton/Brady at 5:30 p.m. while third seeded Heart Butte faces off with sixth seeded Sunburst at 7 p.m.

Heart Butte will receive a first round bye on the boys’ side and will take on the winner of fourth seeded Cascade and fifth seeded Simms, who open Thursday’s action at 9 a.m. Second seeded Dutton/Brady faces off with seventh seed Power at 4 p.m. followed by third seeded Sunburst and sixth seeded Valier at 5:30 p.m.

The girls’ consolation and championship games are slated for 3 and 6 p.m. on Saturday while the boys will take the court at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. The top three teams advance to the Northern C Divisional Tournament in Great Falls.For more high School sports coverage of
