The people of Shelby and the surrounding area are invited to a parish mission at St. William Catholic Church entitled “Exploring Love and the Meaning of Life as a Family” on the evenings of Wednesday, Oct. 27 through Friday evening, Oct. 29, at 6.30 p.m., in the church building.

The mission is a family event and everyone is welcome. The mission will be presented by Jen Messing of Minneapolis, Minn., who has been teaching youth, young adults and all age groups about The Theology of the Body, the writings of Pope St. John Paul II regarding the importance of the body in our spiritual journey. From 1979 through 1984, Pope John Paul II gave weekly talks regarding The Theology of the Body to his Wednesday public audiences at St. Peter’s square in Rome.
